A monument was installed at GGAO as reference for a DORIS beacon; the equipment installation was performed in June 2000 by personnel from IGN. The DORIS antenna is part of the network supporting the International DORIS Service (IDS); the IDS monument name is GRFB (previous station configuration used name was GREB). The IDS provides a service to support, through DORIS data and data products, geodetic and geophysical research activities.

The DORIS beacon at GGAO has been operating since June 2000 as part of the global DORIS network of ~57 stations. The beacon transmits at 2 GHz and 400 MHz, observable at satellites equipped with DORIS receivers.
